In keeping with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s 1952 visionary recommendation for India’s educators to transmit vital survival information to India’s adults by all possible means, we invite you, fans of the Bard of the Brahmaputra, world wide, to join us in co-creating cross-generational arts and humanities group workshops to bring to life his firm belief that the study and practice of the arts (in any field engaging our five senses, eg. word, music, art, writing, dancing, cooking, sports etc.) and humanity, is a fast track to realizing our vast inherent potential to generate good will — the glue that keeps communities healthy. Through works in groups, like musical or dance groups, we create great good will. As he expressed in his numerous songs extolling the richness of life from his own experiences, how and why every single individual is equally important in the web of life experience. He codifies for us the idea that the absence of respect for the other is the bases for suffering whereas a caring attitude towards others can expand our outlook, increase the joy and influence our community positively. The path of expanding our heart of compassion for the benefit of all, is the golden road to a good life regardless of our preferred religious beliefs. Joy and good manners are appreciated in all societies. So why delay going up that path for the benefit of all.
