Mission & Objectives

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Foundation [BHF, not-for-profit social trust, Guwahati] was established to channel the creative energy Dr. Bhupen Hazarika triggers, perennially, in people not only in his beloved Northeast but wherever people strive to build a better world. His eloquent appeal to our universal and humane potential, across denomination and borders, will not fall on deaf ears once they discover what his work celebrated—humanity. We believe that every individual is precious beyond belief or myth and that our conduct should reflect that singular fact.

To create environments that can empower people and stimulate innovation through value building projects rooted in diverse communities across the socio-economic spectrum. The result of our efforts should be the cultivation of leaders guiding productive and vibrant communities informed by truths found not only in Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s words but in those of all true humanists who promote the uniqueness and sovereignty of every individual and his/her natural right to the bounty of life, liberty and the pursuit of fulfillment. BHF will seek to establish Chartered chapters in other states of India and locations overseas in order to maintain a disciplined and intergrated social organization. Through collaborative avenues BHF will also seek to present the rich cultures and traditions of the Northeast to nations overseas through the nuanced and sympathetic perceptions of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

These activities will be carried out by selected committees with their dedicated staff of volunteers or interns. It will become a training ground for those who wish to dedicate a part of their life to doing positive actions in society and especially or the coming generations of people.
