Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Foundation [DBHF] will launch its first annual Bhupen Hazarika Jajabor* Music Festival on November 5th in Guwahati. Our aim is to stimulate interest in the many and diverse aspects of Bhupenda’s legacy ranging from music and the arts, to education, to the pursuit of social change and justice.

“Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Foundation wanted to celebrate the theme of “Dignity of labour” that was central in the very popular song of Xudhakontho “Autoricksaw cholaon Ami duyu bhai”. We had certain activities in mind. The key was providing a platform. to Autoricksaw drivers to discuss new challenges and possibilities. We took the opportunity of doing it together with paying homage to Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala on his 114th birth anniversary, ie, 17th June. Read more
We are glad to share that like earlier occasions the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika is going to be celebrated in various parts of the State on 8th September 2016. It is even more heartening that the local community of Kuthori in Kaliabor is also organizing a Day-long event in the very house where Xudhakantha spent some creative time of his life. As family members we are very grateful to the local community who maintain that house and have great plans for this site in future. Read more
